Hong Kong Events - June 2027
June is hot, wet and green, and its one big date is the Tuen Ng Dragon Boat Festival on Wednesday 9 June. In Wan Chai the festival means the harbour: the district's waterfront looks across the race course on Victoria Harbour, and the city's biggest international dragon-boat regatta is an annual fixture of the month.
The HKCEC keeps working through June with its summer run of fairs, and the Wan Chai Harbourfront Event Space continues its outdoor season. Between the rain, plan for early mornings and late, cooler evenings. Everything below is a confirmed 2027 date unless the entry says otherwise.
đ Tuen Ng â the Dragon Boat Festival
Tuen Ng (Dragon Boat) Festival
đ Wednesday 9 June 2027 â public holiday
Tuen Ng, the Dragon Boat Festival, is a general holiday in Hong Kong. It marks the fifth day of the fifth lunar month in the traditional calendar, and the city marks it with dragon-boat races and sticky-rice dumplings (zongzi).
Why go: it is a public holiday with free racing to watch, and the Wan Chai waterfront is one of the natural vantage points over the harbour. Try a zongzi from any of the district's food shops on the day.
đ Location: Hong Kong-wide; racing on the harbour and at beaches across the city
đĩ Cost: Free to watch from the shore
đˇī¸ Categories: Festival, Public Holiday, Traditional
đī¸ Status: Confirmed â Tuen Ng falls on Wednesday 9 June 2027.
Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Festival 2027
đ June 2027 â annual event, exact 2027 date not yet confirmed
The city's flagship dragon-boat regatta is listed by the Hong Kong Tourism Board for June 2027, but the exact racing date had not been published when this page was written. The international races are the biggest gathering of crews in the city and the centrepiece of the month's harbour programme.
Why go: the racing itself is free to watch from the waterfront, and the drumming and colour make it the most photogenic hour of the month in Wan Chai.
đ Location: Victoria Harbour (venue to be confirmed with the 2027 race date)
đĩ Cost: Free to watch
đˇī¸ Categories: Sport, Festival, Waterfront
đī¸ Status: Annual event â the exact 2027 date has not been published. Watch Discover Hong Kong.
đĒ Summer at the HKCEC and the harbourfront
The HKCEC's summer fair season
đ Through June 2027
The Convention Centre runs a rotating summer programme of exhibitions and public fairs, building towards the two big public events of July: the Book Fair and Ani-Com. The rolling schedule is published on the venue's own calendar.
Why go: June is the calm before the July crowds â a good month to see the HKCEC district without the queues.
đ Location: HKCEC, 1 Expo Drive, Wan Chai
đĩ Cost: Depends on the fair â check the venue calendar
đˇī¸ Categories: Expo, Business, Family
đī¸ Status: Recurring; individual fair dates are posted at hkcec.com.
SummerFest@Wan Chai continues

Why go: free, on the water and the best evening to be outdoors in the district before the peak of the summer heat.
đ Location: Wan Chai Harbourfront Event Space, 3 Hung Hing Road, Wan Chai
đĩ Cost: Free entry (individual events may be ticketed)
đˇī¸ Categories: Festival, Outdoors, Family
